UK. Luxury pen manufacturer Conway Stewart has unveiled a vermeil edition of one of its most popular models – the sterling silver Drake, produced in honour of British naval commander Sir Francis Drake.
The Drake Vermeil limited edition is handcrafted from a rod of sterling silver and features a solid 18ct gold nib. The body is covered with intricate engraving and the likeness of Drake’s ship – The Golden Hind – is engraved on the cap top. The pen is then applied with a vermeil finish, a form of plating precious metal with gold.
The limited edition of 100 pieces is available as either a fountain pen or a roller ball and retails at £860.00 (US$1,650.00).
